We’re so excited for this season and we wanted to fill you in with a little Fall trend report to make your seasonal shopping easier.
Now that winter is officially dragging on a bit too long, we are dreaming of sunshine and warmth just as much as everyone else. And this is made a little bit easier thanks to the dreamy new Hometown Collection from Rylee + Cru.
This collection of Mommy N’ Me styles are inspired by co-founder and creative director, Kelli Murray’s life in San Diego. And this means sunshine, rolling waves, sand, and beach days. Add in the ‘70s, and you have the collection of our dreams.
The Hometown Collection features several fresh new prints, just in time for spring. Flower Field is the perfect dainty, delicate floral print in a washed color scheme, for a sweet retro vibe. If that’s not enough florals for you, Scattered Daisy comes in a beautiful shade of mustard. Sunburst comes in two different shades: a light yellow for a sunshiney feel and a soft lilac. Of course, stripes are always in style, so they brought both olive stripe and colorful carnival stripe options. You can also look forward to rainbows, cheetahs, strawberries, and the most summery of all, sailboats.
Okay, now let’s get to the bottom of what you can expect. Though it may be hard to say goodbye to summer, fashionistas look forward to this time of year. Tones
Fall fashion is all about warmer color tones. Opt for beige, taupe, brown, and variants of yellow, red, and orange to be one with the season. Softer colors, like olive and ivory, are also quite popular this time of year. When put together, the warm and soft colors create the visual balance that autumn is notorious for. So, mix and match as you please!

A current favorite of ours is the color mustard, a universal color that looks great on everyone. Fabrics
Autumn is a time to switch up fabrics, incorporating heavier materials that will keep us snuggled down. Unlike bulky winter knits, fall fabrics are breathable and will have you good to go from day to night.
Make cotton crepe an essential this season. With its elegant grooves for a crisp, crinkled form, cotton crepe fabric gives a flowy appearance, resembling something like an enchanting river. Cotton crepe has more support than regular cotton materials but is softer than other crepe fabrics. We’re glad Rylee & Cru has brought us the cotton crepe Sparrow Peplum Blouse!
Nothing says fall like this fabric, which can be rocked in the form of boots, bottoms, or outerwear. Arguably the epitome of autumn, faux suede is an animal-friendly material made from polyester microfiber that's woven into a thin, soft, but very tough plastic fabric. According to Plastics Make It Possible, the plastic materials are more durable than natural suede, which is made from the delicate underside of an animal's skin and often can tear. That’s why we especially love this faux suede biker jacket, which also comes in littles’ size!
Prints & Patterns
Minimalist prints are a highlight of Rylee & Cru’s fresh line. The collection features easy-to-style patterns from fun floral to dotted to classic gingham. Subtle yet playful, Rylee & Cru’s styles capture the toned-down aspect of fall while bringing the garment to life. They’re anything but plain.
Reminiscent of plaid, but a much classier version, gingham works well with fall fashion. Its distinguishable checkered pattern makes it a must-have for the season. The Button Front Midi Skirt can be styled with either a plain top or graphic sweater, as pictured! We feel that the button detail at the front gives this skirt a special touch.
